correct. you have to go overseas to get models without bluetooth, and healthcare companies in the states refuse to support them fully. it’s a nightmare

either a ban on bluetooth for new models or a mandate that a limited-connectivity model be offered for pacemakers, with just the near field comms for the data uplink to doctors. i don’t want a bluetooth radio that doesn’t get updates controlling my heart, for what i hope are obvious reasons

I'm not sure I want one that even accepts software updates at all. Configurations, sure, new firmware or software, not sure I'm down for that.

agreed. but connectivity without even safety updates is the worst of all worlds, and that’s currently all that’s on offer for american consumers, which is absolutely maddening (and terrifying, as someone about to get one this year or next)

Yeah I don't even want to trust the software/hardware for CPAP machines, I can't even imagine something that has to be implanted.
