I have done all I can to not see the film Spike Island. I left two Stone Roses gigs in the 1990s because they were terrible, though I did enjoy the reunion shows because a combination of Reni's vocals being turned up and 50,000 people shouting along meant you couldn't really hear Ian Brown.
