Sad to see Linkin Park devolve into the most generic pop with electric guitars. The project has died with Chester. They should have left it that way. I cannot respect this chase for money.

Hurts to see one of my favorite childhood bands to become this. Hurts even more to see fans supporting this. We must've been listening to different bands, I guess.
This isn't the first band to lose members. I respect the bands who found the decency in the hard decision to close the project. They don't have to stop making music. Choose a new name and go on (also tons of bands who do this).
Sticking with the name is sticking with the sales. Disgusting.
I don't think we know them nearly enough to judge. There is no proof this is a chase for money. I honestly believe they enjoy the music that they play today, and they are genuine. That's their sound today. It's perfectly expectable their tone and direction are different now. Why do the same thing?
Amorphis significantly changed their style twice. They were pretty good in the early years. Later it was meh. Now they're one of the greatest bands on this planet.
Bands consist of people. People may want to try something new at some point, and that’s ok. People change, so bands change.
I respect style changes. But whenever a band goes into pop and says "we've always wanted to play this", I roll my eyes. One doesn't have to be a genius to see that style change toward pop means money and nothing else.
Agree! Neither do I want to relieve them. I just don't think a respectable artist publishes what they publish and feels proud about it. This music is objectively uninspiring, from empty lyrics to the most formulaic song structures.

I, for one, cherished that experience.
Chester was an important part of it, but I cannot say that nothing else mattered or matters.

But i've changed a lot, too.
Old or new, i just don't listen to much Linkin park atm..
People change, and the world changes. You can't expect to relive those moments.

Meteora and Hybrid Theory are honestly also also quite similar but they were something new compared to everything else out there.
