I really like "Greetings From Asbury Park". It's such a raw, vital album. Lyrics were just pouring out of him and the arrangements can just barely keep up with the tsunami. For You and Growing Up are just classics
Before I downsized, I had this vinyl. Do I regret giving up the 6 crates of vinyl from that move? HELL YES. But Rosalita (Come out tonight) hooked me to follow him. He is The Boss. And, from what I can tell, a decent human being.
It's definitely top-tier, though muted, production-wise. Well overdue a decent remix. Kitty's Back from "Hammersmith Odeon, 1975", slays the studio version.
Small venue, too! Our 2200 seat Music Hall, the nicest in town at the time. Bruce actually sat on the edge of the stage, legs dangling in the orchestra pit, as he told us a story leading into one of his songs. Epic!
I did not give that album enough love in the early days. It wasn’t until the mid 90s that it really spoke to me…other than Rosalita, everybody loves that song all the time.

This one or “Darkness” are the two I vacillate between.
My favorite was a Harry Chapin tribute he did my mom had on tape I adored.
Dude really is amazing.
"Incident on 57th Street" is Bruce's most underrated song, IMO.
And "Rosalita" is my all time favorite song by ANY artist.
Same.
So lucky

The timing, the tone, the lyrics. It felt like America said ‘I see you.’
Jonathan said he wanted to make up to the LGBTQ community. He more than delivered. We could’ve used him the last 2 decades.
