I started reading Stephen King's The Stand a month ago or so, and have been too busy to read more. Finally got to read a big chunk tonight. God damn that's some good writing. A positive to this heat is that I have no desire to turn my TV on. More reading time!

I managed to get to page 200, and got so scared I gave the hardcover to a friend and never asked for it back.
This was, without question, King’s earliest masterpiece. The first of many.
The sublime between the lines articulation always astounds me.
My favorite description is the dogs...
Plus, I thought Jamey Sheridan as Randall Flagg was a casting masterstroke. Had a hard time with the new guy as a result.

Do NOT watch the more recent one that streamed on Paramount+
It is shit.

An epic in the true sense
Still remember it as one of my best reads.
Seems like the perfect book for when you're stuck at home with COVID.
Someone behind me coughed, then sneezed.
I put my basket down at an empty check-out and almost ran out of the store.
That scene where one person in the front sneezes—not covering their mouths—and they show the droplets fly through room.
That horrified me! 😄
