In his final address, Pope Francis said, "I express my closeness to the sufferings of all the Israeli people and the Palestinian people. I appeal to the warring parties: call a ceasefire, release the hostages and come to the aid of a starving people that aspires to a future of peace."
Back in 2015 we were lucky to be in Rome for a mass outside the Vatican with Pope Francis. We were lucky to be along the railing when he went around the entire audience, waving and greeting almost everybody in the audience, literally everybody connected with him. One of my images as he went by
"The death of Pope Francis silences a powerful — and increasingly solitary — voice for peace, equality, and disenfranchised people in the face of a growing threat from authoritarianism and climate change," (The Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board)
Precisely why RW Newsmax host Gina Loudon said Pope Francis is probably in hell and Marjorie Taylor Greene said Pope Francis is evil. Trump-GOP hypocrisy sickens me.
Yet, Trump is using his passing as a way to put himself out there. He had to make himself present at President Carter's funeral even though he spoke ill of him while he was alive. He will be making it all about himself. The best he can say is, "He was a good man." He dares not say less.
As we mourn the death of the Pope, some observations: Whether you are religious or not, the line between Good and Evil is clear. Francis led with empathy and compassion for the least of us. TRUMP ENJOYS INFLICTING PAIN AND SUFFERING ON *ALL* OF US. THE COURTS, THE GOP MUST REIGN THIS EVIL MAN IN NOW
