Why can’t time be spent making the world a better place?

they cannot separate 'nice' from 'appeasement' and see it as weakness. Kinda folks who think there's only so much love to go around and trade it like a commodity.

Probably why they're so bad at actually trading things and why they think *cough* that tariffs work.

Empathy for others is our last evolutionary achievement, and it's the easiest to lose. When some people acquire money and power they forget how to feel empathy. They suppress guilt over their own abundance by reasoning that anyone could do the same if they worked hard, thus the poor must be lazy.
