Anyone who has analyzed a large project that requires an EIR, or gone to numerous city council meetings over years w/ RHNA and constructing housing understands we have exploded regulation, that is then weaponized to slow down & stop what we need.
housing. Affordability & access to transit should be our north star. Then fixing insanity of US healthcare.
Beyond shortening all these steps down to 1 year is CRITICAL oversight.
CDBG funds get diverted and NOT used in areas who need it ALL THE TIME.
“Local” does not = honesty.
'Waste' is a perspective based issue. If it's something I don't particularly agree with, then it's wasteful spending. This is COMPLETELY different than fraud. This is the issue which gets muddy. Elonald are clumping it all together. They are calling anything liberal leaning WF and A.
Thanks for posting that. It was a really good interview. Although Ezra made me nauseous every time he affectionately referenced Elon, he has a point about timelines. All the good the Democrats do people don’t know about because they don’t see it come to fruition during that Democrat’s term.
Yes, you might think the great businessman in chief (B'ich) would understand and the shadow B'ich would understand that satisfied customers keep them in business. Unless their actual intention is to take over the business of government and use it to enrich themselves for the short term. Oh God, no.
The thing at the end, change how we think of it… that’s the problem. The Republicans have always had a different viewpoint of fraud, abuse, services whatever. Programs aren’t there to help people, in their mind. The goal is changing the mindset and I don’t see them wanting to change.
This govt is just the minus government, minus heart, soul, concern, care, take away jobs, medical care, veterans' health protection, likely play with social security and by taking away jobs, likely cutting its own throat as those it's screwing are its tax base. Self-defeating? HOPEFULLY.Evil? SURELY
This was fantastic. Good progressive that I am, I often demonize big business too instead of recognizing that government red tape often ties itself up in knots.
Nope. Fraud would just shift to the private company
Because they would still mostly be paid by the government, but they’d also have to make a profit, so they’d be trying as hard as they can to extract as much money as possible from the gov.
The exploitation of most of our toll roads and some bridges was privatized, ostensibly so that a company would take care of them. But because its infrastructure, the government pays for the maintenance of the highways and the company, we pay tolls, and they do the bare minimum.
Jon Stewart needs to announce his intentions to run for president. We need someone who isn’t a politician! That is how we get people to cross over party lines.
The reason they want to privatize it is so we can be set up like russia, where the billionaires, who are the cabinet members, can now charge a vig for running programs that control hundreds of millions of dollars

We are SHORT 3-5 MILLION units of affordable

Sorry, for all the great views you have, you tend to let these establishment mouthpieces walk all over you.
Hopefully, I'm mistaken and will be pleasantly surprised.

This whole movement is being financed by big business. And the book is full of fantasy fixes.
It was all designed to fight against the uprising of progressives.

Yeah, my paycheck is taxed, but I will never go bankrupt from getting cancer.
Healthcare is something *everyone* at one point in their lives will need to have access to.
