I think it’s going to be worse than anything in modern US history. Remember that Elon said (October 2024) that he believes Americans will need to experience pain to get the country on track. It was startling and made me ask “why does he have an opinion on this? Why is he being asked?” Now we know.
Dismantle and he profits from it. He is an advisor and what he says the government does. Executive orders being signed that go against the law and there is little resistance from the federal government. Dark time.
It’s fairly obvious and quite distressing that this has been the goal since 2016. This time, guardrails have been decimated and our nation is being dismantled at breakneck speed & rational lawmakers are receiving credible, “worse than usual” death threats, should they oppose. Dark times indeed.
That happens to at times. There are no adults in the room this time around. I can imagine where and how this will go and I don’t like what I am thinking.
Hey CNN- wtf is up with putting Kevin o Leary on your discussion panel about our politics? He’s NOT A CITIZEN OF AMERICA!!! He belongs to the Conservative Party in Canada, holds a second citizenship in Ireland (family clause) AND is now a citizen in AEU for trade He has nothing to say about US F him
And yet, people’s perception is that he would bring a better economy landscape. It’s the post-truth era. Reality does not matter anymore. It’s devastating :(
The airline industry needs to come together and sue the US gov't for making it a dangerous travel proposition for consumers. With all the cuts and crashes, no doubt people are flying less. All driven by the gov't. Make em pay.
Just flew Delta and Southwest in close proximity. The SW experience was trash. The planes were trash. No plugs. No screens. Horrible snacks. Every single metric including price was worse on SW.
It's kind of the point, mate. They're a budget airline that fulfills a market demand for cheap air travel. It's not like they hide the fact. And yet, their corporate leadership is compensated at a rate comparable to the poshest of airlines. It's top heavy, and somethings got to give.
And that's precisely the issue they are trying to address. As your initial post points out, they have little room left to carve out of operations without compromising passenger safety. They need to look elsewhere for cost cutting if they wish to regain their competitive price advantage.
With all of the layoffs at various companies and the federal government and its trickle down affect at what point will “the economy” suffer with dominoes to follow?
After they pass the March budget with raising the debt limit and more tax cuts for the rich and more cuts to government services things will rapidly fall apart
Between this and the 1000s of Feds, we're looking at serious unemployment issues. This must be by design. A stupid repub idea to lower inflation for the masses by sacrificing the many
It's because Canadians 🇨🇦 have cancelled trips to USA and people are afraid to fly in USA airspace and no one making sure planes are safe to fly. Yup trump is giving things
Maybe very prescient of them. How long before people feel it's safe to fly again? Will the industry be in a slump for the next 6 yrs...4 of Trump's debacle and hopefully only 2 to recover. Maybe good/smart time to sell your airline stocks now?🤔
