Although I think this ruling was predictable, I also think many claiming a religious exemption do not belong to religions that actually have their views. It is just an excuse for many to get what they want.
They aren’t lgbtq books you f@cking maga-enablers!! They are books that happen to have lgbtq characters and teaching basic humanity. Would SCOTUS allow parents to opt out of books with black or jewish characters? Wait, don’t answer that…
Anyone that thought the judiciary was going to save our democracy or that the courts were going to bail out those limp-dicked democrats in Congress was/is delusional
Not that I care, but what part of religion says that one should not be able to read and educate people/ kids in knowing other ideologies or alternative ways of thinking? All it appears to do is produce socially dysfunctional individuals.
There is no place for religion in public life according to the constitution of the United States.
The fact the SC don't understand this is worrying and shows how little at least 6 of them actually understand the document they claim to be committed to upholding!
We need to fight like they do. Next year ask your kids to let you know if any teacher references Christian doctrine. If they do loudly complain to the school that this violates your belief structure. Make noise. Be an asshole.
