I was very critical of Israel. But I was wrong, in that I was not critical enough. Though I thought they had taken things too far a year ago, I never thought they would take things this far.
if german mainstream opinion comes around on this (as it slowly seems to be doing) but american does not, you'll know the latter is well and truly lost
I’m sure the Jewish Museum shooting pushed back any possible reverses (if there were any) by several months, if not years. And they will use every future tragedy to justify kicking the can down the line even longer.
I think that's the optimistic take on such people. More likely they'll say as little as possible about it or claim they were lied to. Tapper pretending he's somehow a victim of wiley Biden staffers who tricked him into not noticing his age is a dry run for this.
The only way anyone would do this is if someone with a leadership role and powerful rich buddies calls for a specific Middle East end goal (that is unequivocally neither "genocide all the Palestinians" nor "uncreate Israel"), declaring they intend to achieve it. And that hasn't happened.
Haven’t seen a lot of mea culpas about that. But you could easily turn this one into a twofer using Bari Weiss as the nexus between “cancel culture”
fearmongering and doing cancel culture for real at pro-Palestinian academics

Nope.

Bob Rae (to his credit) figured out that he needed to shut the fuck up many months ago, at least.
