Yes you don't have to be a history buff to see the obvious but it helps if you're a history buff to explain it to the ignorant & the gullible. And history does repeat itself. The Democratic Party
Public Education
Unions, esp public sector

For decades, Republicans and their voters cited the sacrifices made by Americans to protect us from the very things that they now want to make our country into.

Or much of anything tbh. An intelligent & educated population that has retained the ability for rational cognitive thought/reasoning skills (& common sense) would not enable them to hold any power sigh
