Her crime was embezzlement, it wasn’t related to electoral procedures like stealing votes or whatever and definitely had nothing to do with presidential elections that will take place in few years.

It was boosting the party, which exists to win elections. And since you can no longer disqualify her for the elections already held, the only sensible punishment is to disqualify her for the elections ahead.

Also, Le Pen herself argued in favour of lifetime disqualification!
