Bad journalism from @theguardian.com, which says Israel is 'following through on its promise to protect the Druze'. The Syrian authorities did NOT attack the Druze, so Israel is simply attacking Syria, not protecting anyone.

The Guardian is probably better than most British media, but is still part of the constant effort to distort the facts in order to defend the indefensible, genocidal Zionist state planted in the region by British imperialists.
Somebody (probably Israel) fabricated an audio recording of a Druze sheikh insulting Islam. A mob of idiots attacked Druze students in Homs. The authorities protected the Druze students. After that incident, violence was started by Assadist Druze milita. It was put down by both...
the authorities and allied Druze milita. Then all Druze leaders except one issued a statement rejecting separatism and recognising central government authority over Druze areas. Zionist fascists choose to interpret this as 'Sunnis killing Druze', then illegally bomb Damascus, and...
(There are also reports that the violence began in Jaramana when radical Sunni factions attacked Druze fighters there. The Druze fighters were allied to the gvmt. The radical Sunnis were too, nominally. The gvmt cannot be said to have attacked Druze, but it does need to get
control of the radicals - a difficult job. I have complained about the slow pace of assertion of control repeatedly. More needs to be done, but it's still not the case that the gvmt attacked the Druze. Israel is not protecting any Syrians but trying to push Syria back into war by attacking it.)
