Even without that it's just, utter insanity, he made generalist tools and is surprised people used them for lewd stuff? Probably wasn't even the majority of uses.

If anyone has a way to restore functionality or any sort of alternatives, that would be much appreciated as a lot of my workload was assisted by their animator controller scripts

This is Exhibit A for why people don't trust DRM as a concept. Not only does it tie something you purchased to a server that won't stay online forever, but it enables rug-pulls like this, where someone decides you don't own what you paid for anymore.

Whatever his reasoning, this is a disaster.

His own terms of service for the project say that if he quits, he'll remove the DRM.

Instead, he decided not to do that and to invalidate every license without warning or notice. He has a refund form, but who knows if he'll issue them.

I wouldn't blame anyone who rips that DRM right out.
