I feel like if they all quit, they’re just leaving room for the lackeys. Get fired. Make it difficult for them to figure out what you did and what they’ll do without you.
I am having a hard time listening to how Republicans are totally innocent and Democrats totally responsible for $36 trillion in debt, especially when Trump added $8trillion to national debt and $10trillion to fed reserve debt.
If they get fired, it would be on the grounds of disobedience, which could undermine their stance and unintentionally legitimize the wrong policy they oppose. Resigning, on the other hand, is a deliberate statement. It demonstrates that they performed their duties with integrity and chose to fight.
Eight or nine senior attorneys have already resigned from the DOJ. Trump's or Friends of Trump's attorneys will take their place. We no longer have a DOJ.
That, definitionally, is NOT how it works. It is far more difficult to fire a federal employee (who is not probationary) vs having them resign. In fact, if you voluntarily resign from any job there is No unemployment! This is always a gutless, pointless move.
They're firing people for cause after offering a severance package. So now they've had their reputation damaged as well as future job prospects. Leave voluntarily and you avoid that. It's been made clear they can't stop these morons.
Where are you’re getting this information? I have not seen it reported anywhere.
It is not common practice for the OMB to provide severance. That is a private sector thing. Firing for cause is not a quick process in the feds either. And once fired, they will qualify for unemployment insurance.
There was a mass email telling them they could resign and collect full benefits and pay through September. Some took it. Then they received letters saying they were being fired as they were not suited for their jobs and their performances were sub-par, making it for cause firing.
Here's the thing. They can't fire people for being registered Democrats or having a spine, so they're coming up with ways to make them quit, or doing mass firings. Then they'll find a way to replace them with cronies, and that is the bigger problem.
