A lawyer for Columbia University said Tuesday that a demand from the Trump administration for dramatic changes in student discipline had merely sped up policies the university had already been planning to enforce.

Here is a fairy tale-style satire about Donny the Dictator, a lazy, mean ruler who tries to control the Land of Liberty. In the end, he's defeated by kind, brave citizens—the Good Fairies of America—who restore love, truth, and community to the kingdom.
How it's even possible that in just two months, Universities just giving up most important idea that pushing western, democratic world forward... Freedom of Speech.
I would like to hear the things that Columbia has agreed to do. In the seventies Columbia was a leading light in the demonstrations against the Vietnam War. How do people who lived through that era now turn it into a quisling school for a puppet King?
Whose going to discipline the universities for unacceptable fascist actions and suppression of free speech. These should be grounds for replacing the entire administration and perhaps deporting them…
This is just FICTION! Columbia planned to suppress FREE SPEECH. Rescind 22 degrees awarded. Bend the knee to a FACIST. IGNORE SCHOLARS. Damaged its reputation. Destroy higher education. Put America at risk. What a TERRIBLE IDEA. Get back on the right path to patriotism!
Todd Wolfson, president of the AAUP, said: “The Trump administration’s threats and coercion at Columbia are part of a clear authoritarian playbook meant to crush academic freedom and critical research in American higher education.”
The weakness of our institutions, willing to bend a knee for a few bucks, is one (of many) disturbing things of the Trump era. Face it folks, there are no guardrails. You are on your own
Tighter protests rules, and taking a knee to the tune of 400 million dollars are two entirely different things. Many people are saying 47 had a beef with Columbia for decades about a real estate deal they didn't develop. It's retaliation with his trademark grift.
Student discipline?
What society are we turning into?
They just want to silence everyone and make people afraid to speak out and be themselves and learn from each other
The "mask ban" is exactly the same policy we at Columbia already have in place, which is that if you are wearing a mask (for whatever reason) and are asked to identify yourself, you must do so by showing ID and lowering your mask for a visual check. Everybody at Columbia already does this regularly.

The old play book of Trump is
“Scapegoat Psychology”:
when Trump makes a mistake, he scapegoats the “Other”,
aka the News Media or the Democrats
It is the same strategy used by Hitler or Putin or any authoritarianism’s,
appointees use scapegoat psychology

Columbia will be a Harvard Business School study in how NOT to handle a crisis.
