My grandfather was one of Canada’s first SigInt experts. He started in WW2, won the Military Cross in Korea, and then after the war went to the NRC to work for do some of the first Cold War SigInt work.
Thank you! I believe he was in P Group (Soviet Air and Air Defence) towards the beginning of the 1970s and later may have been in N Group (Soviet Naval and Transport). But this info comes from partially redacted in-house newsletters, so those guesses could be in error.

I feel like it may have changed over time but is signals intelligence considered part of electronic warfare? I see planes that once wouldnhave beem designated EW classed as SIGINT platforms.
