Stardew Valley fans - I want to get into the game. Give me beginner tips before I start my farm because it seems overwhelming 🐮
Bonus question - I love books to track info and guides. I hear people make good books on SV. What are some of the best ones? 👀

I’ve seen people put chests outside people’s houses and stockpile them with the things they like in so you can easily access them on birthdays/whenever you want to gift them!
Save up money -
Lastly, have fun. 💜💜
Get a good feel for the game first 🙂
But also, don't worry too much! It's a very very lax game, you can't *really* go so wrong you ruin everything.
I always have one hand on the wiki when I play because I go full nerdout on it
Good luck anyway! Very fun game. It devours time like nothing else.
Thank you for the suggestion
(Totally grow some cranberries and blueberries, though.)
winter is a great time for adventuring. If you have animals, do get some silos and perhaps an upgrade from robin.
A good ingredient for the luau soup is great for making friends
You can sell old weapons at the adventurers guild.
Let the grass grow. When you have a silo you can cut the grass for hay to feed your animals. Be sure to leave some so it'll keep growing.
Keep a snack always on your inventory.
Also, if its your first game, just enjoy and take it easy!
if you wanna stop for the day- don't leave the house when you wake up, it'll be saved from the night before
watch the tv when you wake up :0
Who are your favorite NPCs?
Make sure to get gud enough to enough to catch them
there's this cool tool to help planning your farm ahead if you want to decorate it, or just get an idea of how to organize your crops, buildings etc- cause rearranging everything afterwards is a lot of trouble 😆

Otherwise, I think the game is pretty intuitive and it comes down to finding what your player style is/what you want to prioritize as you play
Good luck!! Do share with us which npcs you like eventually 👀
16 or more crops have a chance to spawn crows that will eat your crops
I just started a new farm and i went easy on crops in spring, then when I could start making sprinklers I focussed on melons and pumpkins the next seasons :)
2. Have fun.
- a lot of tips are aimed at Optimising and Maximising Efficiency which is fine but also there is no time limit, fuck around and find out will also work
- Meadowlands Farm comes with free chickens 10/10 reccomend
