First off, people. Lum'Dhasa as a whole is condemned by the world as the one major nation where slavery isn't just legal, it's a pillar of the economy. Other exports include spices, beasts of burden, and medicinal plants native to the jungle

Preservation of just about anything impossible without it. There is no major trade network in Lum'Dhasa, so travelers to Lum'Di must do so by airborne or arcane means. Fishing is big on the coasts, but so unincorporated that most anglers don't know "Lum'Dhasa" exists, much less that they live there.

I use azgaar's fantasy map tool, and one of the brilliant things about it is that you can project onto a globe! It really helped me visualize the temperature and climate of my world a bit better, as well as the actual distances between everything! I plan to run many a campaign here ^_^

You can do custom
- military strength in certain areas
- culture/religious maps on a separate layer
- population/culture/city type down to individual locations

And obviously though it starts you w some landmasses you can custom anything land-wise

One very self assured orc on an island, strong and big enough that no one has bothered to come take it from him. He occasionally shows up at events for world leaders, and is always invited. Surprisingly to some, he's a very astute listener and has rare but solid insight.

The Papal States are run by not one, but multiple Pontiffs. It's a land where the veil between our world and the spiritual is very thin, and so a nation was established so that pilgrims of all faiths could have passage unassailed. The Pontiffs exist purely as a lawmaking assembly, not figureheads.

Oh hey, that reminds me of how I have a council of religious leadership across faiths named "Cardinals" but it really has nothing to do with that. So this state is a neutral state other states setup to sort of keep the veil having issues?

It is set up and established by the heads of many faiths, not states, by unanimous will and edict of the gods themselves. My gods are very "olympian" in nature, and are very active in the world through avatars/champions. Chosen of many faiths serve as law enforcement/peacemakers in Neyri.

I did name all of them. I usually start with two real world languages (so long as they share the same alphabet) and try to bridge the gap between the two into something that sounds good but lacks meaning in any real world language. Some places are named after people in-world, others "lost to time"

As for how I ground them, I usually link specialty and terrain and build history from there. For example, the Telrennans are expert anglers and sailors. Their history leans Mediterranean, conquering the seas around them and the land said seas touched. Political shenanery runs rampant.

I have a pantheon of 20 gods; some present at the creation of the world such as Solara, Azulana, and Garius (Sun, Sea, and Wind respectively). Some ascended mortals such as Pluck, Prastyth, and Caela (Balance, Nature, Life). And some by belief alone: Gods work on Kuo'Toa rules for everyone. -

Any mortal believed by enough followers to have domain over an area that is not presided over by an active deity will eventually ascend to divinity, provided they accept.

My favourite god? Theovana, the Gladiator - Domain: Vehicles and Athletes

Heroes of myth in my world? Very few. Most tasks have been accomplished either in secret or reclaimed from evil. Of the council of founders of Telrenna, Rennum is hailed as being the most wise Emperor of all - able to end wars with words, rather than swords. To convert armies to his cause, smiling.

Nalanorak and Telrenna have been at war for approximately 600 years at this point. The Isle of Stone sits in exile after a gambit at world conquest last millennium, and the recent events of the campaign have had the Kobollovan Protectorate shatter into micronations ripe for conquest.

A long, cold stalemate. Rip currents around the Steelheart Confederacy lead to a harsh area for troop movement. The war initially was fought on dragonback, but the Telrennans nearly drove dragons to extinction pushing the invading Nalanorans back. Now it's mostly naval raiding/skirmishes.

Indeed. The resident Constructed (warforged/androids etc.) have a lucrative trade practice with the lizardfolk of Golwharf to the south of the small continent. Over a large wall that divides the nations, organics and people are given to the lizardfolk as food, and salvage makes more Constructed.

So actually, the opposite! Followers of Gul'Rak are not allowed to cover their heads (with the exception of combat helmets and other protective gear) so that the wisdom of The Lady of Radiance may always seep into their head from the sun's light. It is common for Wathonians to wear masks, but -

this is either for safety or business. Wathonia is a tundra nation of vampires, and home to the world's only universal neutral bank. They have lived long enough to see ancient bargains struck, and see to it that they are executed. The masks conceal who personally comes to enforce a contract.
