I'm guessing the turn arrow started and the through car ran the light? Glad you escaped unscathed unlike the car just minding its own business to your right.

Hmm. Not sure if that was no fault of turners fault. Probably turners as they have the responsibility to make sure no traffic continuing.

When I was like 22 I had the same thing happen and was the straight car, and it was because a car in the left lane about 2 lengths in front of my obscured the guys view and he tried to turn immediately after that guy passed.

No, I had cleared the scene before the police showed up. Having been in a similar situation, though, there's something to be said for supplying the objective facts when there may be a dispute.
