Unlikely to happen now considering most of the reason that happened with the 3DS was because of Iwata.
He's dearly missed, this is the first console launch since his death.

I don’t even think the console itself is really overpriced for what’s in it (solid hardware for handheld, 120hrz HDR screen, etc.), but $80 for PS4-ish quality games is the real problem.

I really hope so, but seeing how many units the ps5 has sold despite being even more grossly overpriced AND having no games i wouldn't hold my breath

nintendo is, socially, a childrens console, and the teens who wanna get a 500€ console to play fortnite will just get the ps5

either nintendo makes their console children-christmas-gift affordable or they fail
