Seen a few folks astonished by my lack of support for ChatGPT and similar. Because AI, right?

Yeah, no. What we have right now is glorified autocorrect. Glorified autocorrect that takes the energy of an entire city to do what it does, plus half of Lake Erie to cool down while it's doing it.

I'd like 2 see if you see value in my use of ChatGPT & I am asking w/neutrality. I hate writing as an Dyslexia person. The spelling, the words, the typos are horrid.
I type out my email or passage. I ask ChatGPT 2 clarify, shorten, rewrite in a casual way, or rewrite or be funny. Is that use OK?

Aw. 😍 I didn't take offense at all. I wanted 2 know if I were not seeing something, some subtle issue that would be more important than how I find it useful. I would give up a tool if it were truly a terrible tool if needed.

My students always come first....
All my students are dyslexic, dysgraphic, and have dyscalculia just like me.

I think like any tool, it’s brilliant for some stuff that can help us, but not meant for other things. Eg, it often gives the wrong info when used as a search engine but students then rely on that wrong info. But for other things it can be helpful. I’m so glad it helps you and your students 🙏🏽

I love tools that ease us, but caution is needed often. When I get ChatGPT by my design 2 be wrong, I've used the passage as a comprehension reading lesson 4 some students. They have2read deeply 2 find its errors. A good lesson 4 anyone.
It is egregious 4adults & older teens 2 fake work or trust it
