I just changed the order on my passport, driving licence, and then on everything else.

I didn’t do anything legal to make the change, so now the only inconsistent paperwork is my birth certificate, which no one looks at anyway!

There was a time when my driving licence and passport had the same names but in a different order, which did require explanations at times, but once I sorted that I didn’t look back!

My dad's dad went by the *second* of his two middle names, my mum's mum went by her middle name. Not sure how either of them arrived at that outcome.

I was all set to be just Duncan. But then one set of grandparents insisted I needed a middle name as they had noted at my dad’s graduation that everyone else had a middle name.
So then “Duncan Peter” (using my dad’s name). But that, said the other set, sounded too like “Drunken Peter Weldon”.

Ande especially avoid giving a child your own name but intending them to use the middle name. Much, much later it will come back to haunt you as they begin ravishing your bank accounts
