Fair play to Starmer. Get the trade deal with India then wang on about how every decent Brit has an enduring love for Churchill. Tactically that's the right way round.

“Hey, we made a great deal with India, aren’t we good… by the way, wasn’t this WW2 figurehead an all-round great guy?”
Just ignore that he was a white supremacist etc, etc, etc…
Just getting into my job as Keir Starmer’s PR. India’s been a bit awks so we’ve had a brainstorm on something everyone loves so he can get a bit of cred back in interviews.
Pretty pleased we thought of Motown, says he’s going to lead on how he’s always loved Smokey Robinson…

Other than that, however 😏
Not the first, not the last.

Someone mentioned PAKI didn't they?
His mother was from New Jersey.
It seems to me this is not widely known in the UK.
Churchill made terrible mistakes and even more terrible decisions that had horrendous ramifications for millions of people.
But there is an argument that Europe is free now is because of him. If Britain had fallen then Hitler may have won.
So yeah he is loved by many, rightly or wrongly.
