Elite in the 80s was an absolute enigma - wireframe ships, trading, battles and a manual thicker than a phone book.
BUT I can't be the only one who was just lost in space, barely able to navigate, before just giving up?
Maybe it WAS genius, but for many of us it was just a lonely, confusing void.

Of course back then I couldn’t understand that everything was procedurally generated. It just looked like magic to my young (-er) eyes
J/K. It was v tricky on the beeb with the flickering wireframes but really came to life on the Amiga. At least for me.
Loved it, played for hundreds of hours.
