I wanna add something in, banning the id doesn't stop or remove the app from being used. It can be recalled again if it does unfortunately, so the only thing you can do in that case is to disable apps until someone makes a better alternative that filters out external apps by id from being posted.

Totally agree. Discord’s getting worse, but sadly there's no real alternative right now. For a lot of artists, it's one of the few spaces left to build community. That’s why it’s so frustrating to see it enabling tools that make art theft even easier. We deserve better.

Please stop spreading misinformation. DomoAI has been added to the app directory, alongside other bots like mee6 or probot or the watch together feature and so on. This app has no more permissions to access chats than any standard app. You can ban the bot from servers but it won’t change anything.

domoai wasnt just added to the directory. its integrated into the app. they called it a partnership on their original page, then went back and changed it.

I’m not a fan of AI in the art community, but I get that AI is part of everyday life now. Since it’s not going anywhere, the least they can do is give us laws that protect artists / people in general from being ripped off and hold scammers accountable for abusing it. So yes, ethical AI.

That is a misconception. This is a registered bot with discord that has to be add by an administrator or owner of a discord through a series of events they have to do themselves. It is fear mongering. I dislike most AI bots but I like facts more.

You know you can ban it without it being in the server right? And given banning it only bans it from operating as a user, not being called as a bot, there's no evidence banning it does anything to stop it from accessing (and potentially stealing) images posted.

it doesnt matter if discord doesnt allow companies to train on user data, because genai does not work without data. they can say all they want they dont train on discord images but thats just not how genai works.

And forgot to mention, the TOS itself is pretty old and not up-to-date with the current thing they are doing. Like I said earlier, don't use their tool if you don't want your artsto be trained.
This also isn't the first AI tool in their App too
