Almost forgot to give my annual reminder: Please for the love of whatever, don't wish the Veterans in your life a happy Memorial Day. It's not our day, and it's not really a happy holiday.

ANZAC day (Australia & NZ, obviously) is a public holiday, but has never been a happy one.
I wonder if the difference is in how it is presented, or because as much smaller countries more people have lost friends and family, or know someone who has?
It should be a day to educate and prevent more children and desperate young people from allowing themselves to become puppets for the military-industrial complex and its contractors.
The way to honor them on Memorial Day/Veterans Day is to stop creating more of them.

Lest we forget.
Enough time for remembrance, not enough time to turn it into a party.

We deserved so much better!βπ»
Let us remember.
Don't piss us off with ignorance.
My whole squad dead I'm a sole survivor.
Thank you for saying this π
