The initially released email was not written in the normally expected way so as to confirm that; rather, it seemed to imply the opposite. Questions were/are appropriate, but it’s possible this is approaches normal.
Digital retention was suggested in lieu of paper (an example of what the first email didn’t say).
Several good lawyers I know are watching this case closely.
Note too this was a “closing the building” cleaning, not an annual cleaning, so “everything must go” unless someone also has a (less common) “courier” permission.
