I read something about the actors being wonderful and the film itself being not. Just last week. Wish I could find it again. I'm sure I will love it. I never listen to critics. I was just asking out of curiosity.
I can’t wait to see it! My all time favorite movie since I was a kid was wizard of oz and I’m excited to see this version! See it with my fam December 3rd in theaters
It went beyond my expectations! There should definitely be award nominations received. I want to go spend money to watch it again. I haven’t felt that way about a movie in a long time.
Saw it yesterday, loved it. Bought the book last year, got about half way through, gave up, it was just plodding. Pleasantly surprised that the movie skips pretty much 95% of what I read. May have to dig it out and finish.
I'm going on Wednesday and I can't wait! I have been waiting for this after seeing the musical at least 10 times. I'm a little obsessed. Glad you loved it! I haven't heard anything bad so far!
i watched it Wednesday surrounded by middle aged ladies, girlie groups, and my girlfriend. we all ate it up, fantastic crowd and a wickedly wonderful experience
Nope. The guy who wrote Godspell, Pippin, "The Colors of the Wind" and music and/or lyrics to many Disney features did - Stephen Schwartz. He has a small cameo at a key moment!
Oh, that makes sense.
The songs do have that late Disney late Broadway sound tbf.
Lots of accolades but doesn't compare with Harburg & Arlen or Sherman brothers.
I cant wait to see it, I was lucky to see the premier on Broadway in 2003, such an emotional, visual & sonic pleasure, I can already tell the movie does it justice, they actually sang live to record during the scenes so its extra impactful, & impressive.
It really was a special show, wonderful memories. I was even super lucky to get rush tickets, so for like 10 dollars we were right in the center with amazing seats, I love that they do that.
I would've gone back to watch again too, it truly was that wonderful, I was only up from Florida to see Portishead sing in the Bronx, so had to leave afterward. Its always smart to swing thru & check for rush tickets at shows there. Luckily saw little shop of horror opening show same way that trip.
I also saw Hugh Jackman in A Boy from Oz on both trips - those two shows were both so good. The second time I saw The Boy from Oz, I had placed myself in a spot where he had interacted with someone in the show I had seen earlier, and he ended up doing his bit with me! #LifeHighlight!
I cried. Soo good. Though I did whisper to my husband, 'do you see the correlations to the T***p situation here. And here. And here?'
I was only slightly annoying 😉
As a person who going in thought it would be entertaining I was blown away. Best movie I've seen this year and I just hit my 40th visit to the movie theater for wicked.
There's a funny Wicked ad right before it starts asking people not to sing. But come Christmas Day, a singalong version will be in the theaters, so go now! ;-)

Glad you had a good time !
Can’t wait to see it again!
SOOOOO GOOD
Neither of us knew it is a two-parter. Now that makes sense to me, but he's over it. 😭
Fingers crossed that it's woke enough!
