Cool! Do you think it would makes sense to have a feature by feature comparison with tanstack query? I see this is a more generic library but probably most people would say why not just use query?

Personally I think the best feature of sheepdog is the "scheduler" the fact that you can enqueue, drop, etc tasks to schedule when they run is the best. I see tanstack as a different kind of library. But you can actually use them in conjunction (caching/invalidation from tsq and juggling from sd)

if I want to run tasks on a schedule, say every hour or once a day, would this be a good fit?

If you have a long running server maybe but i would not recommend it: you should really setup a cron job that invokes a function or call an endpoint for that kind of stuff.

makes sense. it’s not mission critical so i thought it would be nice to avoid spinning up another server but I guess the most sane solution is running a cron job on my vps
