With the Senators win and Montreal's loss, if the Senators win six of their last 11 games, it essentially means the teams behind them have to run the table to pass them. Playoff hockey, Ottawa. Get ready.

In reality, only the NYI & NYR can even displace Montréal.
NYI max points = 94
NYR max points = 92
Ottawa could get a loser point in OT in all of their last 11 games and still get to 92. This is a clinchy as a clinch can get without the math saying clinch.
Columbus could displace Montreal.
None of the last of the schedules for Detroit, Boston or Pittsburg suggests they could realistically run the gauntlet to displace Montreal. There are too many teams in those last games still vying for playoffs or interested in keeping home ice advantage.
