Not defending Rubiales - he seems like a douche… but WTF?He gave her, what appears now to be, a non-consensual peck on the lips. A man from a kissing culture whose team just won their first WC. Sure, in hindsight he shouldn’t have, but a trial in both the courts and media. Such a waste of time.

For once? Ever heard of the Me Too Movement - which this is certainly related to? And how do we know he wouldn’t have kissed a male footballer like that? The context of this kiss, when it happened, was not, “I do what I want because I’m strong and you are weak”. It was elation for winning the WC.

No doubt his handling of this has been poor. All he had to do was apologize, but at the time it was just a moment where he lost himself in the excitement… and she laughed about it after. My initial comment was in reaction to people calling this sexual assault - which this is not, IMO.
