I got a lot of hate recently for pushing back on a post that said the U.S. government was just as bad as Russia and Iran.

Sure. But I'm still worried about the evangelicals trying to force "biblical law" on us and stripping rights away from anyone who isn't white, male, and Christian. That's why I say "yet." What's happening in America right now is very similar to late 90s Russia.
