I found all that hysteria at the start of the playoffs rather a bit premature. And then I see Oregon getting crushed and I thought are they going to now argue they didn’t belong? Look, no matter how good a team is they have bad days. Especially if they’ve had a long layoff. Indiana earned its shot.
It turns out the SEC *is not* the dominant force its fans and the media want to pretend it is, Indiana *was* actually good this season, and the possibilities in a football game are so vast that actually playing the game to see what happens is a pretty important aspect of the sport.
See, but that expands the scope of the conversation. Sure, it's fair to say that the SEC has, especially in recent decades, been on top in a long term sense. It is, however, Very Fucking Stupid to use that as an argument point for playoff placement, which people were doing.
Agreed. My team is Ole Miss, who shit the bed and eliminated themselves by losing to Kentucky and Florida. I’ll concede the LSU loss because that’s a rivalry game on the road. We manhandled Georgia 28-3 in the regular season. Beat them like they owed us money. IU was a great team this year. 🍻
I disagree that the SEC is the toughest this year (the past two decades, pre-2023, absolutely they were). But this year, the Big 10 beat the top and mid-tier SEC teams pretty consistently.
But Ole Miss would have been VERY tough. I thought the SEC was overrated, but Ole Miss was the real deal.
The SEC was down this year for sure. I’m fully expecting the bucks to win tonight, but wouldn’t be shocked if they lost, especially if my vision from last night happens. Ewers gets concussed in the 2nd quarter. The new Manning era would usher in a win…I had been drinking when the vision came to me
Yeah, I think the OSU ND match-up will be a good game. Both teams seem to have ironed out the kinks.
I thought NIL was going to be the end of ND, but it might just help with those education requirements, if players have no intention of staying past a season(semester).😏 ND certainly has the $ for NIL
IU were a top 10 team in PASS (performance against schedule), and still are. Clemson and Tennessee were the true playoff frauds. Tennessee played an even worse objective schedule (oSoS)!
Georgia had to play with its second string QB because they had to play a conference championship game. None of these teams could make a run with their second string QB. We should eliminate the conference championship games now that we have a playoff. Unfair to ask kids to play 15 games.
right, there was no advantage given. the 12 ceded team and the 2 ceded team played the same number of games. It is not a "bye" if you have to play an extra game to get it.
This has been the talk in our household. Indiana’s two losses look pretty good now and the wins against Michigan, Nebraska and Washington seem pretty good.

It’s best team is a big12 defector

is the ass-waxing PSU gonna give Irish vindication IU over rate
Those two teams were Ohio State (who blew out Tennessee & Oregon) & Notre Dame (who smoked Georgia).
You know what they didn't do?
Get blown out by 6-6 Oklahoma, lose to 7-6 Vandy, lose to 8-5 Michigan (who were playing without all their best players), & Tennessee.
That was Bama.
