I love that all of Lynch's movies are these high-concept artistic masterpieces, and all of his quotes are like "yeah i was in a tough spot and needed some scratch, so..."
When Covid hit the furniture factory where my dad had worked for 25 years shut down for bit. Over two weeks, he got out some draft paper, drew plans for a shed, then built it. Next time I was homed he flexed about how he notched the studs into the baseboards for added rigidity. Serious dude.
