Trying to rain on Pride parades by citing a passage about God promising to never again rain on parades

The Bible verse that Clayton Kershaw wrote on tonight's Pride cap is used by some so-called Christians to "take back God's rainbow" because, well, the homophobes want to be the only ones who can define love apparently.

When the rainbow bonded God to "all living things," God did not define "living things" as "straight Republicans"

Instead, God said, "God made humanity in the image of God," echoing Genesis 1's "God made them male and female in the image of God," now without any room to argue gender distinctions

It sucks that nowhere in the Bible did anyone ask Jesus what the greatest commandment was. Like if someone asked him straight up and he was basically like “love God and love each other” and said everything should lean on those two things and not some allegory you could purposefully misinterpret

The rainbow is not a symbol of condemnation, but of patience, of God revealing creation will have a role in creating itself, and of God choosing renewal over destruction

All God commands as part of this rainbow deal: Don't hurt anybody, because everybody is precious
