Oh I’m so glad the time I spent going back to BDSP & Arceus during the wait for SV HOME update was worth it.

Normally, I just transfer my living dex from past gens and get the dex done upon transfer. Nice to see collecting the Pokémon (originating from said game) paid off!

Just remember its one egg per copy of Pokemon ranger total meaning you have to find a copy that nobody redeemed the egg from. Then enjoy juggling two copies of DPP reseting them and starting over every time the manphy isn’t shiny. Its a long long process but 🍀

I'm lowkey tempted to dump the Ranger copy I got into my modded 3DS and then wipe the flag that way. Then I can get 4 eggs from the same game. Then I would consider doing the ACE setup to RNG the ID values to skip the 2 DPP requirement.

I don't think Darkrai or Shaymin are required for pokedex completion in arceus since they are locked to owning other games, just like how they weren't required for your sinnoh dex to be considered complete in og diamond and pearl thanks to being locked to events or pokemon ranger

The only thing go exclusive is meltan/melmetal, so maybe shiny g-max melmetal? It would be a bit lacking though, considering g-max probably won't be seen again after Sword/Shield and the regular shiny has been available before.

It doesn’t seem like the Arceus you catch in BDSP from having completed Legends Arceus counts? You should be able to complete the BDSP dex through home trades. It’s not guaranteed you’ll get them and it could be a Palkia from another game for an example, but it’s still doable.

It has to be Pokemon specifically caught in that game. When redoing the Violet dex for shiny Meloetta I did the same thing. I needed to get a shieldon from Paldia as an example so i kept trading on GTS until I got one. Now I would been a shieldon caught in BDSP Sinnoh.

no, it doesn't. Darkrai and Shaymin aren't in the BDSP Pokedex to get a shiny manaphy, they're in the PLA Pokedex (for shiny enamarous) and those are just quests if you've got save data for BDSP and SwSh respectively.
