It was me. I was the epidemiologist. And she was the staff member more valuable than gold. She built databases and mailed out kits to collect DNA. She tested the mailing system to ensure it would work seamlessly.

The COVID study I spent 6 months boxing up test kits for would not have been better served by the PhD epidemiologist doing it instead. I'm a lot cheaper for the government to pay for, and the PhD epidemiologist had much better things to be doing in the summer of 2020.
