They will keep on doing this until you accept either full sharing of data and full tracking or pay up. There is no “hack” to avoid it.

Well, it may eventually be coming. But if I were them and a user refuses to sit through the ad and instead closes the platform, I would not feed them that anymore. IG's whole shit is keeping you there to feed you ungodly numbers of ads. I suspect it's the only meta thing that has good conversion ...

rates, because it's an app, they make it super hard to leave via links—including not allowing people to post them and keeping links in a local browser—and they feed you ads at a rate of 2/3 posts per ad. Anything that makes you leave is bad for business. They'll see that pretty quickly.

Used to do this with Youtube (the closing the app until no ad popped up, I mean). I got eventually fed up and went the hacked route. No more ads, not even promotional messages in videos thanks to SponsorBlock. That's what being overgreedy gets your platform, eventually.

The more entities such as AMG leave IG/FB, the more people will realize Meta is not the place to go for updates. Tough decision to make but I do hope there's an exodus from Meta this year.

It is really bad. I would delete it if bands and festivals would announce concerts on their own webpages again (or on some open source alternative..).
