it's not that these people don't value art — that is a neutral and passive act. it's that they love not valuing art. they love the "verb" of dis-valuing art. there's a difference.
Their jealousy in that someone else dedicated their time to a craft, and insecurity that they themselves do not possess skill or taste that can only come through time and practice, and AI is the perceived equalizer in giving them access to skill they didn’t push themselves to cultivate
It hurts cause I'm fundamentally like them, failed at art early, went technical, and now I'm "successful" at a "smart person job". Lots of people did this and have had 2 results: 1 - art doesn't make money so that's what losers do, and I'm not a loser, 2 - art is the only thing that matters
The cynic in me believes that they hate anything or anyone with some level of practiced talent (this is key- the effort is the part they will never understand) especially because people admire those who create. So some combo of jealousy, destructiveness, and maybe even vindication
