I really need folks to stop acting like disability is full of people “scamming” the system.
The average person has no idea how hard it is to qualify. How dehumanizing the process can be. How much you have to sacrifice & give up.
It’s designed to make you quit.

Basic literacy can spot those. You don't need a major investigation.
Instead it’s a roller coaster of how much can I do before crashing.
Yeah, qualifying for disability is no easy feat.
MINISTER: "Well, we're putting in place blah number of billions to support them to get into work."

Although he's spent 2 years in prison, drinks Jack like a fish, lives off of SS and us, he thinks Trumpie cares whether he lives or dies.
MAGat disease and Jack makes one delusional.
I CAN work. I just can't work full-time. So what am I supposed to do?
Health care professionals don't rubber stamp someone: Disabled.
It's a process.
With thinking involved.

Great advocacy!
One car. Our house, assuming we could still pay the mortgage. That was it.

She's 33. She wants to work. Tried babysitting for friends. Slept for 2 days after. Nobody wants this.
If the amount of money is significant then you wouldn't need disability. Yes you would be kicked off but you could reapply when the money runs out.
My husband is on disability so I understand. Frustrating.
Also, try getting insurance paid out for mental health disabilities is deliberately hard and cruel, despite laws to the contrary which aren’t enforced.
Or being told using AI to help with my disability makes me a ‘bad person’.
It's all bad faith all the way down so never give them the benefit of the doubt.

So that was fun. 🤬
That was how my grandfather explained the situation to me. I have documents to prove this tactic is at least as old as the Spanish-American war.
recently talked to a friend who is a nurse who said "i mean you might qualify, you never know -- and you might as well get the process started if you ever want them!"
If I didn't have the energy to go through their lengthy & purposely obtuse processes multiple times, I simply wouldn't be around today.
It's a legal and psychological nightmare.
Just give ppl the financial and physical support our doc says we need.
I couldn't scam the system even if I wanted to! I wouldn't live long enough! It took decades to get to the point I'm at now and that's insufficient!
It’s literally meant to be punitive and even if you succeed, it forces you to remain below the poverty line. No one is choosing this.
"The process of getting on disability nearly killed me."
It's true. It helped me to understand that this was the nature of the system. It's cruel and dehumanizing by design.
The stats are all grim but they ignore everything.
We need to look after each other otherwise what's the point in living.
bless you.
Or die first . . .

I was nineteen when we started.
Shit sucks!
I firmly hope you find the support you need.
I had an appointment with a mental health support place on Thursday but nothings going to come of that for another few weeks and my specialist appointment for this isn’t until August
It's dehumanising, embarrassing, depressing and if you're lucky you'll wait for at least 2yrs for approx,£10 a day
