Yeah, I know what you mean. When I wrote Baker Thief (in... 2017..) that was happening all the time, so I wanted it very explicit.

Then I'd say, if you enjoy Baker Thief, I'd check out Unbury Your Bones by Coyote JM Edwards. It only really mentions friendship but it's strongly using romance-typical narrative structures to build the friendship and it's fun for that.
