I don't think there are many members of the public who support funding schools and the NHS but don't support welfare support for children and disabled people. That's what they are.

It's so weird as well, because the historical evidence is rather clear - easiest way to reduce these kind of DWP bills is get the economy moving.

The larger issue is the "easy work" has declined over the decades and post-Pandemic + IMV the 'Boriswave' has basically locked people out of employment so i.e. a younger person w/ depression & anxiety in a deprived area PIP+UC is the only option.

The reason I mention the 'Boriswave' because the puzzle of why we're having fast rising benefit costs Vs other European nations with similar Disability benefit systems is they didn't remotely have anything like the 'Boriswave'.

tbh, they are kinda correct. They were making a pain budget and in the end they only did enough pain to piss everyone off, not enough to actually put us in a better fiscal position.
They need to ignore public opinion & go full throttle on pain and RAISE THE TAXES THEY PROMISED NOT TO RAISE

Is the problem not the NHS?

If people are in waiting lists and not seeing their GPs because of massive waiting times, then the country isn't healthy. Who would have thought cutting the NHS to the bone and beyond would have repercussions.
