I mostly now order stuff online in different companies and then search it in the local stores, eg. FNAC, Decathlon, Decitre. Doesn't work for exotic things but for the bulk of products.

I did a test; bought a Logitec MX mouse in FNAC (very common mouse) and the MX keyboard in Amazon France.
The keyboard was QWERTY so not addressed to the french market,so a lot harder for Amazon.
The keyboard arrived in less than a week, the mouse in a month.
