If you ever wonder why, it's because you're phone camera has a very wide lens. It *might* help to hold the phone away from you're face, depends on your phone's lens and of the lighting
Also the angle and the face you're making makes all the difference in the world....
(I wouldn't normally be this vulnerable about my appearance but it might help someone else realize they're not as ugly as their phone might make them think)
