I just finished Hyperion series-for the 4th or 5th time. I loved it even more this time-I think because it's a space opera with uber corruption and (spoiler alert)

But anyway, the main honour I think I got was being able to say "Hey fuck you, you murdering fucking colonizer" at novella-length by burying it in a story about a scawy forest

Colonizers would like to think we lose our humanity when we're invaded (if we had any in the first place). No one does.

Your graphic design is FINE you only broke ONE of my teacher's cardinal rules from 2005. Next time you need to add rainbow gradients to the text with the drop shadow and make sure EVERYTHING has a black outline.

Nah, use a cardinal rule of the 90s, embossed text and art that looks only vaguely like the characters in the books and only just vaguely hints at the thematics. (And I have now just aged myself OMG)

Butcher of the Forest is an amazing work. It moved me greatly as I read it and it pops up in memory at sudden and suprising junctures.
