Ugh. I've been exposed to enough AI writing to know that the result of a rushed implementation of a tool known to make serious errors can only result in a complete sh*t show.

Just imagine a year from now when a new device starts killing patients due to a "hallucination" in a "scientific" review.

There was a survey sent out last week asking (in a push poll sort of way) what AI tools we use and what we expected to see in the future. I said spell check was occasionally useful and hoped to see carefully tested and validated use of AI with post-introduction evaluations, but didn't expect that.

To be fair, spell check can also be amusing. Also, drug companies really need to see what spell check thinks their product names are misspellings of before using them.
