I think it simply comes from our squad size. The less players you have, the higher chance there is they gonna pick up injuries. If you have only one player for a position, that is rather irreplaceable (e.g. Havertz as a striker now, Ode), they don't rest enough => more exposed to being injures.
I think it seems like we are being much more cautious this season. If a player has a slight knock or illness, they seem to be kept entirely away from the match day squad. I suspect there is a small new direction around these issues. Hopefully it will help us for the run in.
The bigger problem is that we spent about £90m and our entire summer chasing two players: one has an 18 year-old being preffered over him, and with the other we're almost indifferent to him being in the squad. That's a pretty bad look. #afc

He's fit enough to make the squad, and MLS was also injured this week. Not a great look.
