Thanks to @tobyhadoke.bsky.social's book on The Quatermass Experiment, I now know the crucial role of Miss Wilde's cat was recast between the first and third episodes due to the original cat being uncooperative

If I was making a live TV drama I would simply not have a cat in it, but Nigel Kneale and Rudolph Cartier were made of different stuff I guess
